Thursday, April 10th: Eat Greek Tonight: like most of its Mediterranean neighbours, the concept behind the Greek way of eating is simple, yet effective. Greeks like the freshest ingredients, lots of drink and meals are not to be rushed. Come and eat Greek… these recipes are still handed down from generation to generation – classic favourites include souvlaki, spanokopita and baklava. You will be inspired by the superb tastes of Greece.

Monday, April 14th: TableTalk Entertains: H’ordeuvres - our appetizer classes always fill up first and we think this one will also be a winner… everyone loves great apps…if you are throwing a cocktail party or having friends over for drinks this weekend, then we are going to arm you with the best and our most loved bite sized treats.
Tuesday, April 22nd: The Best of the Best Thai Cuisine: considered one of the world’s most delicious cuisines with a unique blend of particular taste sensations – hot, sweet, bitter, sour and salty. Learn the art of balancing these tastes and you will be able to create delicious and exotic Thai cuisine.
Thursday, April 24th: The Isle of Capri: imagine yourself driving down the coast of Italy with terraced lemon groves to your left, a sea of lapis lazuli to the right and pastel painted villages dotting the coastline .. Coastal Italy is bursting with mouth watering flavours that we will capture tonight.. our Italian menu will feature seafood as our main course..
Monday, April 28th: Spring Wreath Class: welcome the spring and welcome your guests when you create a stunning living spring wreath. The wreath will dry to be everlasting for your door, a wall or maybe placed on the table with a candle centrepiece. Eucalyptus and hydrangeas will bring fresh beauty to the wreath and maybe a touch of colour with dried or silk flowers, berries or ribbon. Your gorgeous wreath that will have spring knocking on your door… (please note: the class is $35.00. Any product needed for the wreath can be purchased at the time of the class from the instructor. Please bring cash or cheque)
Wednesday, April 30th: Garden Retreat Presents: our new sister store in Cobourg will be holding classes at TableTalk and tonight is the first in our gardening series… Perennial Gardens 101. Ever wonder how to start a perennial garden? Too much to know and don’t know where to start? By the end of this class, you will be able to design a garden, prep the soil, and choose perennial flowers that combine well with each other for height, colour and blooming season. You will be armed with exact details: ready to plant and then watch your beautiful garden bloom.
Thursday, May 01st: Tuzzy Muzzy: The Victorian era was a time of sentiment often referred to as the Romantic Time. The word "tuzzy" refers to the Old English word which means a "knot of flowers". Muzzy refers to the damp moss wrapped around the stems to keep them moist. We will be looking at hand tied bouquets with unusual flowers that can be used for corsages, boutonnières and in tabletop design such as place card settings, napkin rings or maybe as a welcome in the guest bedroom. If you have a special summer dinner, wedding or graduation or have always wanted to learn more about the art of flower arranging, then please join us for an evening of small floral bouquets. (please note: the class is $35.00 and any product needed can be purchased at the time of the class from the instructor. Please bring cash or cheque)
Tuesday, May 6th: TableTalk Tappan: the Japanese have a saying that you eat with your eyes and taste with your mouth… if you have eaten Tappan, then you can appreciate the delicate, unique cuisine traditionally known for its subtle sense as well as the distinctive and beautiful ways to present the food to your guests.
Friday, May 9th: What do I serve with Chardonnay? Does Indian food and wine go well together? My favourite recipe has rosemary in it... what wine should I choose? The Sophisticated Wino, Shari Darling will be here to walk us through these and many more questions you might have about food and wine harmony. As author of the best selling book “Harmony on the Palate”, Shari will have us tasting 6 wines and appetizers tonight focusing on what spices and herbs blend well with your favourite wine selections. This has been a sell -out class in the past. We are repeating it tonight and I guarantee you will be amazed at how you look at wines from now on !!
Wednesday, May 14th: Garden Retreat Presents: Container Gardening: this type of gardening is a very popular way to grow herbs, vegetables, annuals and perennials. Containers need to be chosen carefully for water and soil needs. Correct choice of plant material (there are so many fabulous plants out there…) and fertilizing is important to ensure beautiful containers throughout the growing season as well as location because containers aren’t just for the deck anymore !!!
Thursday, May 15th: TableTalk Design Class: Home Staging. are you thinking of selling your house or condominium? Tuesday, May 27th: Dare I say “Vegetarian Class” … it always scares off a few people but our vegetarian classes are all about delicious dishes that feature grains, cheese, fresh herbs and spices as well as vegetables. It’s definitely not about boiled broccoli !! In this time of healthy eating, having a few favourite non-meat dishes that can be served for lunch or dinner is a good alternative and you will be surprised how easy and versatile vegetarian cuisine can be.
Thursday, May 29th: Summer Poolside Entertaining: yes, it is BBQ season (yeah) and tonight’s class is all about the summer BBQ party. Some of the dishes on the menu tonight will be summer appetizers, BBQ marinades and dips, BBQ main course favorites, salads and picnic winners.
Wednesday, June 4th: Rockin’ the Casbah: A Night in Morocco: influenced by Arab, African and Mediterranean countries, spices like cinnamon, cumin and saffron are used extensively in Moroccan cuisine. Cous cous is probably the most commonly known dish of this country and tagine is the most common type of cooking… we look forward to enjoying the smells and culinary delicacies of this North African country.
Monday, June 9th: Coastal Mediterranean Favorites: there is something quite wonderful about the combination of summertime and Mediterranean food. Tonight we are taking a tour and having a little taste of everything – Spanish tapas, French bistro, Italian antipasto, and maybe some Greek or Turkish taverna favorites.
Thursday, June 12th: TableTalk Design Class: Create your Perfect Living Space – Indoors and Out. Yes, there are definitely some design principles to follow if you want to create that fabulous living area perfect for you and your family. The design rules are the same whether you are thinking about an indoor family room or outdoor patio. Join us tonight and find out what makes some spaces so comfortable using colour, texture, placement of furniture and décor elements.
All classes run from 6:30pm- 9:00pm unless otherwise stated. We start the class promptly at 6:30pm. We are licenced by the LLBO … come in for a glass of wine before the class. TableTalk is open on class nights at 5:30pm
Culinary: classes are $65 plus GST. This is for a 2 ½ hour instructional class, full 3 or 4 course meal (or equivalent) and a beverage from the cappuccino bar. A discount of $30 if offered when three (3) culinary classes are purchased together. (i.e.: one person taking 3 classes or 3 friends registering for a class together) Classes can be bought and banked to be used at a later time. No expiration on banked classes.
Wine Tasting: classes are $65 plus GST. This is for a 2 ½ hour instructional class, sipping 5 or 6 different wines and h’ordeuvres paired with each of the wines offered. A wine list and information package is handed out. A discount of $30 if offered when three (3) wine tasting classes are purchased together. (i.e.: one person taking 3 classes or 3 friends registering for a class together)
Design: classes are $35 plus GST. This is for a 2 ½ hour seminar/workshop, coffee and decadent dessert.
Floral: classes are $35 plus GST. This is for a 2 ½ hour hands-on creative class, coffee and decadent dessert. All product needed to complete the floral activity is extra and can be bought at the class. This can be paid in cash or cheque to the instructor.
Gardening: classes are $35 plus GST. This is for 2 ½ hour seminar/workshop, coffee and decadent dessert.
How to book: Register via phone at (905) 885-0765 or come in and visit us at 106 Walton St. Port Hope, Ontario. Payment must be paid in full upon booking and is non-refundable. Class transfers may be made with notice of one week. Within the one week deadline, there are no transfers or changes but in the event of a no-show, a friend may come in your place. We reserve the right to cancel classes with full reimbursement.
